Re: Robin SoderKing's 2011

i think he needs to take some time off now.. hes been over doing it for too long and his body needs a break. he should have withdrawn from this match in the first set.

Re: Robin SoderKing's 2011

Was sad to see him play today. He obviously has been sick after the Hewitt match but didn't say anything to media about it. Think the medicine he took for the inflammation in his foot gave him stomach problems and possibly diarrhea. At least from what I've heard in his short conversations. That totally drains your body and there is no way you can compete in that state. He is a bit too stubborn and probably thought he could win vs Tomic anyway. He played tournaments already this year with fever for example.

Good that he gets a long rest now. Sad that he couldn't defend his QF but ah well. His health is more important

Re: Robin SoderKing's 2011

i wouldnot have felt any sarrow,if he didn't play this match...i know there are some problems in his body...but this was not his tennis style...the whole 3 matches...he played very conservative...does he want to make a change??this style is not my like...when my friends celebrated the victory of their favorite players, why i always be the only one to heal my wound....i am so sad....very depressed..

Re: Robin SoderKing's 2011

Ugh, poor Soderling. That really sucks, but I understand why he wanted to play. It's the worst feeling in the world when your body starts acting against you at the most inconvenient time.

I hope he feels better soon.

Re: Robin SoderKing's 2011

Aw, that was a nice article, from what I could get off of Google Translate. They bring up a good point, when talking about whether it made sense or not for him to continue... they said that at least Tomic, after this big win, won't have to hear that he got it because his opponent retired.

The more I think about it, the more I really respect Soderling for sticking it out. I don't think most guys would've done that.

OMG, Jonathan ... you're talking about style ...Robin is just tries to survive with all his injuries.

He played with injuries all clay season.I have no claim to him.

On the Davis Cup match he was injured Achilles tendon, and he still has not healed it. Because of the same injury Karlovic missed nearly a year.
The best solution would be to miss the Spring Masters and treat his leg, but he decided to play. Stupid decision, because the such leg injury requires complete rest, but it was his decision and I accept it.

Unfortunately, he is no longer 20 years old, so he can not afford a big break in the game (several months) for treatment. His rating may fall heavily, and not the fact that he can then return to the top 10. Therefore, he plays as he can at this moment.

Of course, I would prefer that Robin was more rational, but I really love this player and I accept all his decisions. It's his career and he knows better what to do.

And yesterday he was really on the verge of fainting, it's strange that someone would not notice it.

Jonathan, you can always root for Federer, Nadal and Djokovic, perhaps it is easy and pleasant. This is not Soderling, who always disappoints.

He should skip Båstad also, i mean its almost the same thing as skipping DC. He can't gain any points and its to soon after W. He should have played Washington, can't belive what they are thinking of when planning the schedule.
