Re: Robin SoderKing's 2011

Some good things from his first 2 matches in RG is that

he wins more than 80%+ of the points with the first serve in. Going to be very hard to break if he can serve 60%+ first serves

hits the ball well. Confident. Doesn't mind going to the net or walk in on 2nd serves any chance he gets

some bad things:

I personally think he doesn't move as good as 2010. Maybe the previous leg problems. maybe saving energy. We will see

Sometimes bad body language after missing BPs/easy shots. Don't think it hurts Robin himself but when the opponent sees that you are frustrated they sometimes raise their game and Soderling gets a tougher match just because of that. No reason to show such things. Should stick with the head in the towel tactic

Bring on 3rd round! Looks to be Leo Mayer

Robin had faced L.Mayer for only once...last year..on hard surface....in Davis Cup WG...robin won that match with a very close score...7:5 7:6 7:5

..it must be a very tough match the day after tomorrow...

Sad smile, Jonathan? Seriously?
Compared with others, Leo Mayer is a very good opponent for 3th round GS. Look at Djokovic, his opponent is Del Potro, that's really hard ...
We should be ashamed to complain

True, Robin has a good draw until the QF. Solid performance today too.

Don't want to look too far ahead but Rafa's not playing very well AT ALL. If Robin reaches the QF and plays well, he will have chances.

Re: Robin SoderKing's 2011

I wanted Fish for R4 but what can you do. Simon looked really dangerous today and will have the crowd on his side too if Robin wins today like he should. Could spoil the Nadal vs Soderling dream meeting

Re: Robin SoderKing's 2011

Soderling loves silencing the crowd, they won't affect him. His game better be on though come monday, or Simon will hurt him.

Re: Robin SoderKing's 2011

A bit stupid that it'll probably be Robin's first Chatrier match and it's the fourth round.

Good luck against Simon.

Re: Robin SoderKing's 2011

I didn't see this one cos my internet was down overnight - did he play better than he has so far?

Grigor Dimitrov | Jarkko Nieminen | Stan Wawrinka
Simon Aspelin | Jonas Bjorkman | Thomas Enqvist | Thomas Johansson | Magnus Norman | Robin Soderling

i think he played well and didn't give L.Mayer too many chances.his serve is very good, especially the first serve, without Double Fault.

all in all, robin took control the whole match...L.Mayer is not the same level with him

The crowd won't be this silent in the QF, for sure

Re: Robin SoderKing's 2011

Yes my dream QF and hopefully Nadal fans nightmare QF is coming up! So happy for Soderling. He defends a big chunk of his final points anyway with his QF spot and he must feel great atm. I feared all season since he had some injury issues that he would "do a berdych" and go out early and have so much pressure on him for the grass season but now 2011 looks awesome for Robin.

The sick thing is that it seems like Troicki will take out Murray so IF Soderling could take out Nadal I'm pretty sure about a third straight final. That would be crazy!
