Re: Robin SoderKing's 2011

yeah usually he just mumbles some similar things to himself but now he really screamed it out. He must have been pumped up to almost Jonas Björkman Wimbledon level who did some even worse swedish statements in a match.

It's a good sign however that Soderling is so pumped up and as long as he keeps it in Swedish he won't get any warnings from upsetting the refs

Re: Robin SoderKing's 2011

kind of reminds me of a certian other top player that i dont like to much..and lets just say robin better not start acting like him in more than that way

i think he just remembers how easily he took care of harrison last time and thought he'd do the same today so its proibably a case of him underestimating harrison more than anything

he might also be frustrated more because he had the oppertunity to win in straights(when he was up 5-3 in the tiebreak) and then 5-4 and serving but couldnt

Re: Robin SoderKing's 2011

I didnt see it, but I hear he didn't play great. At least he won though.. I think for someone to win a grand slam they always have at least 1 match where they play crap. Lets be positive

Grigor Dimitrov | Jarkko Nieminen | Stan Wawrinka
Simon Aspelin | Jonas Bjorkman | Thomas Enqvist | Thomas Johansson | Magnus Norman | Robin Soderling

Robin didn't play bad at all. It was a very good start.

I should have won easier but I'm happy that i won.
First set I played well, then it got closer than it should have been. I relaxed a little and he improved his game.
there are so many dirty words in Robin's mumbling.....

Someone told me robin called a medical time-out for his hand ,how about that??

Nothing serious, just burst blister on the finger or something like that.

Oh really? Good then!
Why do all the articles I read say he "struggled" and was disappointed with his performance? Stupid articles, I should have learnt by now not to believe everything I read!!

Because in many cases the reporters don't know anything about tennis. They look at the difference in rankings and think "Oh, Soderling is much better, he should have won this in 3 easy ones obviously. Since he didn't he must've played badly.". Many of my non-tennisnerd friends are the same, they overrate the importance of rankings in a match-up.

Hm... I think Robin should make the quarters with his draw. Simon in R4 might be a test, but up until then it should be smooth sailing.

Looks to be Baghdatis in R3 and Fish/Simon in R4. Baghdatis suits him well and a loss to him would be as surprising as a R2 loss to Ramos.

Mardy Fish sort of impressed me from what I saw of him so far. Usually doesn't look good on clay but he got the confidence this year and I'd say he got almost like a 50-50 shot vs Simon. I'd actually prefer if its Fish and not Simon though because Simon is the type that never bends over and could push R4 to 4/5 sets even if Robin starts good and don't want a tired Soderling for the QF

actually,i prefer Simon to Fish in QF...Fish is a X factor on the court,no one knows when he will explode...as for Simon..although he is a native player,he may couses less threatening...on the other hand,Robin hasnot faced Fish for more than 5 years and Fish leads the H2H by 2-0....

anyway...Robin should concentrate on the next match against Ramos tomorrow...

As for me, Simon is much more dangerous on clay...
