Seeded Players
The seedings for the men’s and ladies’ singles will be announced on 16 June. From 2001, 32 players have been seeded in the Gentlemen’s and Ladies’ Singles. These are the top 32 players on the ATP Entry System Position (ESP) and the WTA Tour ranking. The former list is arranged on a surface-based system to reflect more accurately the individual player’s grass court achievement as per the following formula:

1. ESP points as at a week before The Championships
2. Add 100% points earned for all grass court tournaments in the past 12 months
3. add 75% points earned for best grass court tournament in the 12 months before that.

For the Ladies, the seeding order follows the ranking list, except where in the opinion of the Committee, the grass court credentials of a particular player necessitates a change in the interest of achieving a balanced draw.

Good Luck to all the Australian in both the main draw and the qualifying. Also good luck to all the women, go Sam Stsour.

Re: Wimbledon Entry List (updated May 14, 2010)

Grass is where I expect him to perform the best, actually. On his infamous treble 1st Rnd loss to Chardy, the closest match was by far on Wimbledon.

It will be great to see Dusty in the main draw of a GS for the first time. Definitely could win a match here.

Re: Wimbledon Entry List/Fact Sheet (updated May 26, 2010)

It seems to me that Mulles made his decision a little bit too late last year to take a 6-month injury break, since his protected ranking is only 113 and if that's true that would mean that he is number 16 on the Alternates list. Hopefully he will get in directly, because three qualifying rounds would be tough.

In Muller's place I would have entered the French Open with his PR too. Eventhough he would have been eliminated in the first round, 15.000€ is still a large amount of money.

¡Vamos Rafa!

Re: Wimbledon Entry List/Fact Sheet (updated May 26, 2010)

Expect loads of withdrawals. We already know JMDP, Haas, Andreev are out, Gulbis very questionable, Monaco might get surgery on his wrist. Probably will end up being around the same amount of withdrawals as in the French.

Re: Wimbledon Entry List/Fact Sheet (updated May 26, 2010)

What are the rules for seeding ?

Are they going to be the same as the last few years (ie ATP ranking points + 100% of the last 12 months grass + 75% of the grass points of the previous 12months, etc)

Final cut-off for Roland Garros was 107; a ranking of 113 would not have been good enough for direct entry:

Ah okay, I thought that there were enough withdrawals for him to enter RG directly. So my little criticism of his decision is in vain.

Looks like Gulbis is still in, he's playing an exhibition match on grass the week before.
