Re: Horacio ZEBALLOS
After finished 16-28 in ATP competition in 2010 and losing his top 100 spot, Zeba primarily played challengers in 2011 and had a successful season, making two challenger finals in Salinas and Bordeaux, 5 SFs and 7 QFs, as well as making the QF of the ATP Santiago event in early January, to finish 48-30 overall on the year and #109 in the rankings at the end of the season.
In doubles, Zeba won his second career ATP title with Bolelli over Beck/Kas in the finals of Munich, won two challenger titles in Genova and Santiago, and made two other finals, to finish 88th in the final rankings.
Zeba has started off 2012 making three challenger QFs in Sao Paulo, Bucaramanga and Salinas as well as winning his R1 match over Ungur at the ATP event in Vina Del Mar. He is currently provisionally ranked #128 in singles. In doubles, Zeba has won two challenger titles in Bucaramanga and Salinas, and made the SFs at the ATP events in Vina Del Mar and Buenos Aires. He is currently ranked #75 in doubles.
This week he is in Barranquilla and has made the QF, defeating Rivera and Salamanca in straight sets. He plays Bagnis for a spot in the SF. Hopefully he wins this match and can bag the title here to get closer to regaining his top 100 spot again! He is also in the doubles SF with RRH as the #1 seeds, and they will play third seeded Monroe/Sykut for a spot in the final. GL in both singles and doubles in Colombia, Zeba, winning both titles would make for an awesome week!
