Re: Ryan Sweeting
Ryan has had a better season this year, his game has improved, he gave a good account of himself in the match vs Ferrer at the Australian Open and he's done well overall at winning the matches he should win. But the match with Ferrer, Benneteau in San Jose R1, Isner R2 at Delray Beach, Stepanek in Memphis R2, Sela in Dallas R1, all tell the same theme. He can play with good players but at the end of day, he cannot beat these players when it matters and win the big points. That right now is his biggest issue and is holding him back from reaching his potential.
Unfortunately although he's having a better season overall, his awful 2011 after Houston has caught up with him. He'll now have to restart his career in challengers and ATP qualifying and work his way up again. Early last season he got lucky with some draws and had a confidence factor that allowed him to really overachieve and attain some great results, but reality has hit like a rock for Ryan the past twelve months. Pressure will be on him in Houston, so we'll see how he responds.
