I was aware of Tim Hortons. I think I saw it in NYC. Had no clue it's Canadian though.
There are only a couple left in New York - most closed within 6 months.
And as you say - you didnt know it was Canadian. With excuses to our friends in Maine, Ohio, and Michigan where Timmy's is popular, that was my point
And Nathaliia next time you're here in NYC I'll take you for a double double!
People associate McDonalds with the US - Tim Hortons is even more important to Canada than McDonalds to the US (or Dunkin for that matter) and yet its not a national symbol except to Canadians and expat Canadians like myself.
