Re: Andy Murray on clay
I suppose reaching the semi-final's at the 3 most prestigious clay court events; Monte Carlo, Rome and the French Open in the same year proves the point. And in Rome he came close to beating Djokovic and when he took Nadal to a 3rd set after winning the second set 6-2 in Monte Carlo a Nadal defeat in Monte Carlo for a moment looked feasible.
In 2011 Murray was probably the 5th best clay court player behind Nadal, Djokovic, Federer and Ferrer. Possibly could even argue 4th best.
The current greatness league of active players in order of achievements to date (a factual comparison rather than fan biased assessment):
Federer 19 GS, 6 Year End Masters, 26 Master Series.
Nadal 15 GS, 30 Master Series, 1 Olympic Gold.
Djokovic 12 GS, 5 Year End Masters, 30 Master Series.
