Re: Professor Sampras Believes This Is the Strongest Era Ever

yes it is
back in the days Sampras was utter shit on clay
back in the days you had clay court specialists
and fast court specialists
hard court specialists

nowadays players don't rely solely on serves like Sampras Kafelnokov but they rely on return of serve;footwork;speed and they do it well on ALL surfaces and it has gotten harder because of the slowness of the surfaces which wasn't the case 10-15 years ago

Federer;Nadal and Djokovic have proven that with the exception of Andy Murray

Sampras would have never been able to withstand a match of the quality of the 2006 Rome match between Federer and Nadal or the 2011 match between Federer and Djokovic in Paris this year or the Federer-Del Potro or Federer-Haas in 2009 even at his best

Courier nor Agassi or Chang could not have played a superb match like the one Federer and Nadal played at the 2008 Wimbledon final or the 2009 Federer-Roddick match even if Federer played like utter shit

don't see Rafter playing a match like the Federer-Del Potro at the the 2009 USO match or last year and this year's match between Federer-Djokovic
