Japan vs Croatia (indoor, hard)
R1 G. SOEDA v I. DODIG
R2 K. NISHIKORI v I. KARLOVIC
R3 T. ITO/Y. SUGITA v I. KARLOVIC/L. ZOVKO
R4 K. NISHIKORI v I. DODIG
R5 G. SOEDA v I. KARLOVIC

Soeda has just dropped the first set to Dodig. 6-7(3).
He came back from a break down to 4-4 and forced a deuce when Dodig was serving to stay in the set...
C'mon Go, take the second set!

The venue used for this tie is in Miki, Hyogo Prefecture, in western Japan. JTA couldn't use the Ariake Stadium in Tokyo, which is much larger, due to a scheduled refurbishment work. It's a shame they couldn't use the best stadium available in the country for Japan's first World Group tie in 27 years and when Kei's popularity has multiplied after his QF run in AO. This venue doesn't even have a proper air conditioning system so they had to bring in 30 extra heaters because it's very cold all over Japan at the moment.
