Nadal, Federer, join forces for Future of Tennis

The Rafa Nadal Academy officially opens its doors today to the public with a luxurious staging, typical of an event of the first level. It includes the inauguration of Rafael Nadal Sports Centre, and the presence of Roger Federer, 17 time Grand Slam winner, who immediately accepted the invitation for the event to join his rival yet friend Rafael Nadal.

31 Grand Slam Titles in 1 sq meter.

Rafa Shares Important Lessons

Roger Responds

Both legends will attend the press conference at approximately 1 pm.

The event confirmed the attendance of the president of the ITF (International Tennis Federation) David Hagerty; the ATP Chris Kermode; the chairman of Wimbledon Phillip Brook; the director of the US Open David Brewer and a senior executive at Roland Garros.

It appears that the Lords of Tennis are going all out in their efforts to bolster and ensure the Future of Tennis.

Respectfully,
masterclass

"I embody tennis" - Roger Federer
"Roger and I haven't forgotten how to play tennis" - Rafael Nadal

Why?! Let see why! Because they need to see Federer and convince him to come back on tour for a while. The global image of the game took a huge hit this year .

RAFA/His academy should've invited the likes of Rod Laver, Bjorn Borg and Pete Sampras instead

Bad for the game. When will these two stop poisoning the sport with their presence already?

Those two made everyone involved in the game very very rich. They both brought a lot of fans to the game. Esp Federer and thanks to him Nadal is so famous now. If Federer was like Rafa and not got to so many F' on clay then maybe we would not talk about Rafa now.

Re: Nadal, Federer, join forces for Future of Tennis

kind words have been spoken for each other -

Roger to Rafa: "I don’t know how is going to be my comeback, but I can be inspired by you. You have done it million times." "Rafa, you’ve been the one that influenced and inspired me the most. I had to reinvent many things in my game thanks to you"

And he also said he would send his kids there if they want to learn tennis.

Rafa to Roger "Thank you Roger from the bottom of my heart to be here. It means everything to me. It's very important for all of us to have you here. You represent the values and example for kids at our Academy."

How many more official openings before the Academy actually opens?

Feels like it has been going on for weeks.

Re: Nadal, Federer, join forces for Future of Tennis

I feel a "saving tennis against Djokovic" joke there somewhere...funny no one is mentioning that yet (although that's actually good, as I think we already have enough as it is ).
