Re: Support driven by looks?

This is a good topic. I overheard the funniest conversation at the LA tournament yesterday between two teenage girls. One wanted to go and watch Robbie Ginepri practice on another court and the other said,'No, let's stay here, Dmitri has his shirt off.'

Looks have a huge amount to do with support! The teen girls are gaga with Andy, Robbie, and now Dmitri (especially when his shirt is off). They have no interest in Scott Oudesma, Sam Querry, etc.. the pretty boys get all the attention.

At least it's better than those over 50 men drooling all over teenagers like Sharapova, Kirilenko, Vaidisova, Ivanovic, etc

Those guys AND girls who drool over the hotties... how many of them know something about the sport? the players? Not many. Most of them just follow it for the sake of it, and when they get bored, they switch to something else.

It has always baffled me tennisgal, if you are looking to wank over other hot males/females go take an interest in porn, instead of watching tennis and orgasming over the players. Real fans watch for the sporting reasons, and enjoyment of the game.

As for the guys, there are really no hotties (wta) around to drool over anyway. Majority are not even worth taking a look at.

(@ the porn comment)
Exactly! I'm just saying that more than half of those who cheer for players because of their looks know squat about the sport, and therefore their remarks are questionable.

Wasn't Dmitry who said on his blog Safin was being "stalked" by a WTAer coz he was hot? That's even sadder!

Wise words, joeb. I've always tried to make sure that I judge WTA players on their game and not on their looks, and as you say there are no real lookers in there anyway, with some honourable exceptions (eg Dementieva - but could I honestly be a fan of someone whose service losses run into double figures per match just because of those exquisite thighs? 'Fraid not). And that is why I say: embrace Schiavone. Nothing to drool over, but great scrapping skills and tremendous entertainment value in every ridiculous grunt.

ROGER FEDERER: Yeah, I remember this one time when I went on a vacation on the Maldives. That was in the year 2001, I think. I went to this spa. I went to walk around with my girlfriend. I walk in, and we want to book a spa. This guy goes, "AHH, I remember you. You beat Sampras. I saw you on TV." That was like, really, how can you remember me? This guy has probably never been off his island and still knows me. I was a little bit shocked. Then I went to play tennis with him because he was actually the tennis teacher. It was nice.

Q. Were you naked at the time in the spa?

ROGER FEDERER: No. It was at the front desk. I didn't walk in naked.

When it comes to the WTA, I admit I cheer for the good-looking ones...

Re: Support driven by looks?

I should clarify my above statement - there are plenty of quite attractive female players, but there's no-one so stunningly beautiful that I would be distracted by their looks during a match, let's put it that way. In that context the tennis is what will hold my attention... which is why I'm not much of a WTA fan when it comes to it.

Of course there are no teeny bopping guys, men would fuck anything that movies, no need to be known.

I discriminate when it comes to cinema, personally.

Now you are talking about groupies it seems, thats a whole different story. But they don't seem to be well known within tennis. So better leave that one! Unless these teeny boppers are groupies too
