Is Pouille the luckiest active player, already?

I like him and his game, but come on. It's ridiculous already!

1. Pouille (new, up-and-coming big-time Lucky Loser/Winner/Striker)
2. Nadal
3. Gasquet
4. Djokovic (weakest era ever)
5. Raonic (it's the Draw Generator though, not your basic luck)
6. Lopez
7. Berdych
...

Or what?

The Rome draw fiasco + today's unfortunate but funny scenario of the Vesely-Berdych R4 match secure him the top position the top spot in the list of luckiest active players of 2016.
He's starting too well in that department for it to just be a coincidence. He's just barely entered the Top 32, and look at him! Glorious.

The luckiest player is Federer.

I forgot Lopez and Berdych, but the rest of your list is not exactly on point.

The luckiest player is actually his opponent today: Tomic. I never saw a guy getting so many favorable draws in a single year. Unfortunatelly for his fans, he wasted it all.

I like your list, but you forgot Goffin and Granollers.

Where is Federer in your list, this invalidates your entire list. Not reliable.

His draws have been pretty normal. They don't stand out at all.

Let's take this one as an example:

Round 1 - Declined Verdasco, very good matchup for him, H2H 4-0 or 5-0 I believe.
Round 2 - Challenger player Radu Albot.
Round 3 - RBA, very weak serve and poor returner, that means pretty good matchup too.
Round 4 - Pouille, pretty much zero experience on grass.
QF - Either declined Berdych or Jiri Vesely.

Honestly, can you ask for a better route to a Wimbledon SF?

Have you seen Muzzah The Pusher's draw?

THAT IS LUCK.

Also two slams with his ultra-basic game? Yep, no one even come close when it comes to luck.

Main favorites:

ATP: GOAT (past his prime) Roger Federer Andy Roddick Stan Wawrinka
WTA: Legend Martina Hingis Garbine Muguruza Petra Kvitova

Who benefited most from the Rome draw fiasco? Murray, who played unexperienced Pouille in SF. Who is going to play the winner of tired Pouille vs. tired Vesely/tired declined Berdych in SF? Probably Murray. And remember Murray's draw 3 years ago...

You can hardly defend a player who is snorting blow as we speak. Tomic is bottom of the barrel trash.

I'm not defending him at all, his draws have clearly been nothing special though.

Re: Is Pouille the luckiest active player, already?

Other than that run in Rome I really don't see how he is lucky. He has beaten Ferrer twice this year and Gasquet and has improved a lot. By reaching the QF's here at least he justifies what happened in Rome. He may not have had the toughest of draws but he still earned it with wins over Delpo and Tomic.
