The GOATdal welcoming thread (come here when Nadal is back)

It's been some painful years for Nadal enthusiasts since the last time Mr. Parera's tooth got in touch with a grand slam title.
While Rafael's odonthologist is enjoying a lovely extended vacation, there have been shades of peakdal here and there filling the heart of Nadal's fans with hope and delight, though until now, it was just a doctor's visit to the clay gardens of Eden.

The first time Nadal was back, he destroyed the clay beast Juan Monaco for the Buenos Aires trophy, only to fade away in Indian Wells to Mr. Robot himself after having match points at his disposal.

We though he was back again in Miami after trashing the talented shotmaker and mental strenght extraordinaire Nicolas Almagro, but sadly, he faced next round a force of nature personified in Mr. Verdasco.

Weeks later in Madrid, Nadal was back, sent packing some respectable and in-form clay residents, like Mr. Berdych and Mr. Dimitrov, but Parera was not back anymore, falling in the final, but no shame in that, since the man on the other side of the net was no other than the winner of 10 honorable Roland Garros trophies, Mr. Andrew Murray.

Nadal was of course back in his favourite surface after defeating the Serbian Lord Troickimort in Stuttgart, but in Queens there was a dog who buried GOATdal's dreams like a bone.

All this back-not-back rollercoaster continued until today, where after "GOATdal was finally back (and this time I swear it's for real)", a very subpar Nolemort sent both Quique Flores of tennis and his pupil Rafael Nadal Parera packing to Miami, scaling of course in the land of back to reality.

Since even a broken clock is right twice a day, one day Rafael Nadal Parera will be back for good, so this thread serves the purpose of welcoming back everytime there's even a remote possibility of such a solemn event.

Good thread, but don't say bullshit please. Did you watch how Rafa played in the 1th set yesterday? Yes he isn't consistent enough but his current form says GOATdal is BACK! Whether you like it or not

Re: The GOATdal welcoming thread (come here when Nadal is back)

I understand what you mean, and that can do wonders for him on IPTL but "GOATdal" didn't make a career out of being good for only a set now did he?
As the official inspector™ of Nadal's form, I can't update the "Nadal is back" status to YES because of that, but I'm very flexible and I'll pay attention to you and other important Nadal fans of this forum to rely on my decision.

I'm very sure that the master tactician Toni "Quique Flores" Nadal is working on a way to put GOATdal back where he belongs, which is being back.

Come and visit this space frequently for more updates.

Re: The GOATdal welcoming thread (come here when Nadal is back)

Not all the way back, but trending in the right direction. At least he got to play another top player, rather than going out early to another useless "bracket buster" who will inevitably get cleaned off court in the next round by anyone remotely better than he is-and see it go on until finally, in the quarterfinals or semis, we finally see two decent players who are worth watching.

If that makes me an "elistist," so be it! I don't want to see players I can't stand, or who put me to sleep, just because I happen to dislike the personality of the top guy (Djokovic) or feel nothing at all about him (Murray). I can still respect that they are the elite players.

When I saw this thread, it reminded me to bump the roast thread.

Only positive oz Zverev massive choking his Dull girls getting their hopes high.

Will make Dull's losses even more delicious, starting in Miami of course.
Dull can't be handed matches when playing against top 60 players every match can he?! He got a choke in IW but maybe the next top 60 player he faces won't make the same mistake.

Nadal is the post-US Open swing specialist nowadays, look at his best and most consistent results last year. So he can really be back only after US Open.

Re: The GOATdal welcoming thread (come here when Nadal is back)

Hello friends and followers.

I know winning a set against a talented all court player like Dzumhur is a good indicator that Nadal could be back soon once again, but unfortunately, as the very responsible and professional official inspector™ of Nadal's form, that's not enough for me to update the "Nadal is back?" status to YES.

Good thing is Nadal's second best surface is around the corner. We'll check again on Mickey Carlo. Stay tuned

Bull doesn't seem the same on the clay nowadays. But I feel there may be some serious activity in this thread when GRASSDAL arrives in 2016. I've heard Johnny Mac reckons the Lord of Stuttgart will be back this year on the grass, because he probably won't have to play cheating fast players like Dreddy Brown.

@Claybot

This thread has the same purpose as the piggy roasting thread or Cheese Federer thread. It's just a more subtle way of mocking Nadal, which is fine, but I don't think we need 2 threads for this, it's a bit excessive

Re: The GOATdal welcoming thread (come here when Nadal is back)

Dear friends and followers,

I'm very sad to announce that our beloved GOATdal is not back once again, and therefore I was forced to update my signature.

We know Rafa lost today against the clay god Clayray, but it was still a match on Rafito's second best surface, after losing a set to hypesa the day before, and we know that GOATdal bar has to be set very high.

I'll proceed with my investigation on the "Nadal is back?" question, and I'm looking forward to update my signature once again, as soon as GOATdal is back again.

Have a nice week.

respectfully,
Claybotemort
