Maybe Roger and Rafa (and Nole) are with their girlfriends because they're happy having a partner who is nice and normal who loves them for their personality instead of their celebrity. I'm certainly more impressed by the women they've chosen than by other players who date a new model or actress every other year or pick their spouses from magazines

it's good to have such women but still you know you are missing something.....footballers and f1 drivers keep and maintain different girls at different places......does that mean they are bad or something? no.....christiano ronaldo dated a couple of smoking hotties.....i still remember that spanish nurse, she was damn hot.....tennis players seem to keep away from other women for some reason.....exceptions like verdasco are the only saving grace.....

I smell some Bilbo influence here

His playing style is also of interest, he is the most technically pure moonballer on the tour
miles ahead of Nadal in esthetic terms, complete with a never-failing trademark grunt. A legend.

showing what a clown you are once again?

i think top sportsmen perform better when they are more settled in life

Fed probably wouldnt have the millions but for Mirka being with him all these years, he's said so much himself

could say the difference between a 16 GS career and 2 GS career (Safin) is a Mirka in their life

same with Nadal and his woman - although she might be thinking twice watching what a beeyatch Nole has made of him lately.

I think Start Da Game's posts are ridiculously sexist and backwards thinking.

However I have to disagree with the bolded part. Marat didn't need a wife to help him win more Slams. He needed a sports psychologist who wasn't afraid of a challenge.

And there are many players on tour who are married. I'd even be willing to bet that they are happy with their wives. However many of them, even with Safin's headcase issues will never have his career.

Ultimately imo it's up to the players themselves to be successful. Having a supportive group around you is nice but since tennis is largely an individual sport the players have to go out on court and achiever their success themselves.

Fair point, but I'm thinking about someone who is a licensed professional. So maybe he should've just married a sports psychologist, I don't know.

I think it is more about having someone who won't take your bullshit and will tell you things as they are, pro athletes are pretty pampered when they make it big and need a settling presence in their lives.

And tennis is probably the most mental sport of all, so they need that particular ground point.

Those "super hot" girls/models tend to be very fickle and will not give them what they need psychologically speaking.

Re: Post Pics of Tennis players with their girlfriends or wives

I kinda understand where Start Da Game is coming from, and I'm a woman. On the one hand, I'm very conservative and don't believe in pursuing sexual relations wantonly, for moral as well as health reasons. But on the other hand, sometimes I wonder why a lot of these "top" guys commit themselves to some average-looking women at very young ages. In Federer's case, I think he looks like Mr. Potato Head and has all the charm of a rutabaga, but money talks and he could buy pretty much any woman he wanted. I think Mirka's gorgeous and props to him for sticking with her and making her an "honest woman" (even if he did get her pregnant out of wedlock ) but the "devil" on my shoulder also says that he definitely could have banged a LOT of hot women if he wanted to, and he doesn't even come from a conservative cultural background like me and Start Da Game do, so he wouldn't be shamed and guilted for doing so. Win-win situation, if you ask me....

I find it strange that ppl talk like woman is an object there to be purchased. I'm glad that tennis players, however rich and glamourious that they are, don't see women that way.
