How much can tennis players bench press?

Just curious.

Agassi sometime claimed he could bench presses around 300 pounds, but I doubt it at the time.

Do the top players even bench press? Probably spaniards and americans do some moderate bench press at some point of career, to build upper body strengt. But I can't picture, for example, Murray or Novak bench pressing more than 100-120 pounds.

It's true, I just found it!

It's not the same as my thread, but is similar.

Which player can bench the most?

Serena can benches 180 kg?

110 kg is huge, but looks like he's almost dying.

But how in the hell had 110 kg there?

Barbell looks like those 10 kg's ones. White plates with 25 kg and black plates with 12.5?

I don't buy it. I don't think Paire can bench press 110 kg. Even for 1-2 reps.
I bench press on a weekly basis, for 2 years, and I can barely benchpress 90 kg.

Re: How much can tennis players bench press?

for his body structure 110 looks too much, a way too much . specially because he has long arms

I agree. Probably he did it with a good help from the spotter.

110 kg is a lot, actually is my record at bench press, 50-50 and a barbell of 10 kg

Usually I make with 80 (8 reps) or 90 kg (6 reps) too.

Re: How much can tennis players bench press?

Who cares? Bench is overrated anyway. I mean for pure mass, maybe, but for even body development, go with the pushup.

Push up a much better overall upper body exercise with chest focus.

I prefer push ups with weights on the back.

I would rather say pull ups, full ROM wide grip pull ups are for me the king.

I do pull ups also. And chin ups with the other grip.

Johnny.

Push ups is for girls or a complementary chest exercise in the workout at most.

Good one. But pull up is a back exercise, not chest.
