Novak's Chinese VS Rafa's English

Who you got?

Keep in mind that Rafa learns English MUCH longer and that he needs English more than Novak needs Chinese.

I very much doubt Djokovic can actually speak chinese at all, maybe he knows a few words. Is there a video of him talking in chinese somewhere?

Re: Novak's Chinese VS Rafa's English

Djokovic is smart than Nabull.

Nadal "Sampras, Ivanisevic match. or one between those kind of players, is not enjoyable. It's not really tennis. it is a few swings of the racquet. For me in the past it was just serve. serve". arrogance.

clay excluded. successive win 0. If grass and a hard are fast. Like Sampras era. Nadal is able to win only with clay. power of defense and muscles. boring ugly. All the surface is slow now.

fake time-out. cheat. gamesmanship. too noisy annoying always. excuse. boycotts threatened. always dissatisfaction cry complaints. dissatisfaction to schedule. selfish two-year ranking. bump to player. ugly protest. always exaggerated appeal of self condition. etc. overrated by fanatic arrogant blind fan

Re: Novak's Chinese VS Rafa's English

Nadal knows italian, french, mallorquin (a mixture from french and spanish but quite different), spanish and english. So that's five languages which makes him the language goat

Re: Novak's Chinese VS Rafa's English

Honestly, it's not fair to criticise Nadal for his English. Yes it is impressive that Djokovic can speak several languages, but Rafa tries his best with English. I'm not exactly a biased Rafa fan either!!! Some people struggle with learning other languages. A lot of people who criticise his English probably speak no word of Spanish.

Re: Novak's Chinese VS Rafa's English

Novak was born in Serbia, was raised in Germany and lives in Monaco. Nadal was born in Manacor, was raised in Manacor an lives in Manacor.

Spaniards, Brits and Frenchs usually struggle with new language. Why? Because their national language is strong enough to haven't the absolute need of learning new languages since they are childs. Movies, videogames, books, etc. are translated to their languages and their countries has a cultural legacy very strong in it own language. At least the Spanish educational system gave much less importance to teach a new language some years ago than other stuff, although this is something that is changing.

But yes, Nadal is not a quick learner of languages I think. I am not too, but people usually is better learning some things and worse learning others. Effort is important too.
