Interesting that they mentioned music. A talk show I used to watch had an episode about how marital happiness ruins creative success for singer-songwriters... The less satisfied with life, the more eager to reach career milestones, or something like that. With this study, are they saying married players commit to fewer tournaments, or that they don't do as well at the ones they play? In other words, is it about ranking only, or about ability itself dropping? I didn't read the whole thing so idk if they mentioned that there's actually some sort of biochemical change, instead of more social influence.

Players I support for non-tennis reasons: Murray/Ferrer/Monaco/Nadal/Isner/Li

del Potro/Nalbandian/Safin
Tsonga/Gulbis/Monfils/Dolgopolov/Verdasco
Davydenko/Kyrgios/Cilic/Muguruza

It is only a bad move it is to the wrong woman. Agassi fell out of top 100 during his marriage to Brooke Shields.

Then he got back to #1 and played his best years when he was married to Steffi Graf.

It is when the children are born that the countdown clock really begins.

Yeah children are the biggest challenge. Many great people neglected their children because of their career, those who didn't neglect their children, neglected their career.

I don't like Nadal.

Funny thread!

Well, I don't know, apparently married life also makes people fatter. So maybe it does have an impact.

Federer has been married for a while, though, I think? Did not seem to bother him before? Then it's true that Rafa, Andy and Nole are all unmarried.

Could it be that they decide to get married when they start caring a little less about tennis? That could explain it. But in truth I have no idea...

Ferru had better wait a little before he marries Marta, then Though in his case being with the right person definitely helped a lot... While breaking up with the previous one had an immediate and devastating effect.

Janko Tipsarevic totally throws your theory out of the window

He even admitted his surge in ranking being the result of him getting married.

Pretty sure Li Na's husband helps her in a tangible way as well, though of course the study was about men.
