Re: men's fashion thread -- i kinda like the men's capris

Interesting comments from some fashion-ista....

Quote:
The clam-digger pants, the below the knee look, I can't really relate to that. But things are pretty good overall.
But went on to say...
Quote:
James Blake and Lleyton Hewitt received points from Weinberg for the sleeveless shirts they are sporting this year - "I think that's a great trend for tennis and great for sun-tanning as well." But if Weinberg had her way, this would be just the beginning of a movement towards a serious dressing down, even to the extreme of shirtless matches.
excerpt from http://www.australianopen.com/en_AU/...551768007.html

Hmmm? Blake and Hewitt shirtless? As if that match wasn't good enough already. Whew! Gives new meaning to 'heatin' up the court.'

I love my girls.

Re: men's fashion thread -- i kinda like the men's capris

first gondola pants now clam-diggerpants i still love them. too bad the last person wearing them is out of the tourney. i think Roger should get some.

Q. When you've played as few matches as you have over the last two, three months, did you ever lack motivation to go out and practice?

ANDY RODDICK: Motivation? No. I enjoy what I do. I enjoy what I do. You know, I've never been one to, you know, blow off practice or, you know, do anything like that.

You know, I'd be lying if I said I'm looking forward to practicing the next two days as opposed to playing here. That part is gonna suck...(2010 Aegon Championships)

It's okay but not in the court, please. And it'll only look fine with a few players. It looks too restrictive. Maybe that's why Feliciano and especially Rafa lost their tough matches.

Nadal and Hewitt looked like two Rod Laver maintenance workers having fun on the court. Good tennis, but , where's the elegance? I mean, i'm not into fashion at all but Nadal looked like everything but a tennis player (fisherman, painter, Pokemon )

I prefer Philipp K.'s German gayish fans and their outfits, at the Glam Fan show on AO TV

This is hysterical. From Wertheim's mailbag:

Quote:
Nothing Serena has ever worn has moved me to write, but those pajamas Rafael Nadal is playing in at the Australian Open are an abomination. On the Paris runways, designers can run wild with fashion for reasons unrelated to actual clothing, but these Mortimer Snerd pantaloons are a mistake. Whatever Nike is paying him, it couldn't possibly be enough. What's next for the men -- Jerry Seinfeld's puffy shirt? Why not eye patches and tricorner hats? How about jockstraps and aprons? Flip-flops and boxers? Kilts and stovepipe hats? The athletic manufacturers tried to put tennis players in pointed running shoes a year or two ago. Now they're trying to put them in baseball pants! How on earth does a major corporation reach a decision to sell stuff like that? It makes me want to strike a match to every article of clothing I have with a swoosh on it. How high do you have to be in the draw before they let you wear big boy pants?

Martin Burkey can piss off. or he can stay in Huntsville, Alabama -- whichever is more painful

Red face Hrbaty's shirt

Haven't yet seen a thread on this...

If Rafa's pants get threads, SURELY Hrbaty's pink shirt with air openings in the back deserve one! This is the most hideous thing I've ever seen!!!!!!!!

Re: Hrbaty's shirt

I think this is the first time he's worn it - at least, it surprised the commentators... he didn't wear it yesterday against Tim, I know that. So I wouldn't know where to find a picture quite yet.
