Best Tennis Video Game?

Well their are three main tennis video games and those are: Top Spin, Grand Slam Tennis and Virtua Tennis.

Top Spin-
Realistic and average roster of players and tournaments but poor online play and disappointing lack of players such as Tsonga, for example also Wimbledon being named Dublin Open is stupid.

Virtua Tennis-
Bit too arcadey more for the casual tennis fan and lack of actual tournaments but can be good fun.

Grand Slam Tennis-
Gameplay is ok and even though there isn't many players on the roster it allows you to download more players which is good, but it has very few tournaments on it other than the 4 slams.

Which game do you think is best and what would you like to see in a future tennis video game?

Top Spin.

Best game would be a game with the physics of Top Spin, animations of Virtua Tennis and the graphics of Grand Slam Tennis.

Next generation consoles should really be when tennis games finally reach the level of other major sports.

Full Ace if you like realistic gameplay.

Re: Best Tennis Video Game?

Top Spin. If you mix the features of Top Spin and Grand Slam tennis then you would get a great tennis game.

- Top Spin gameplay
- Grand Slam graphics
- The rights to every slam, and other tournaments
- More Offline features like Tournaments, Classic matches etc...
- Being able to download creations
- Deeper Roster
- Grand Slam Tennis online mode

Got a good game there

They're all bad, tennis doesn't translate to video games at all.

Re: Best Tennis Video Game?

smash court tennis 3 (if you have an xbox 360)
although i still rank smash court tennis 2 for the playstation 2 as the best tennis game ever made

top spin tennis is overrated
virtua tennis is shit and hasnt evolved since part 2

Tennis Elbow is BY FAR the best tennis game mainly because it has the best gameplay and you can download the real players with their real hitting styles & stuff.

Topspin 4 by a mile. Still play it online on a regular basis.

Re: Best Tennis Video Game?

It's topspin. However, I always get tired of tennis games pretty quickly because of the tiny roster. 10 real players like what the hell? Most of the time you're playing fake nobodies and then you get the same familiar faces in the final few rounds. If they ever get a game with at least the top 100 in it, now that's a tennis game.

What you're asking for is literally impossible since that would mean paying a licence fee for each individual player.

Understandable, but it doesn't change how annoying it is. Especially when you see all the other sports games that do have full rosters. Now the game always lacks authenticity and replay value

The games you're referring to involve team sports which are usually governed by one or two entities. Topspin 4 has a pretty good roster to be honest. No Haas is an oversight but made up by the fact it has Bnard.
