Re: Novak Djokovic on CBS 60 minutes. Has he already made it?

Good job ditching Barbadillo, the barbarian of PR.

CAA is pretty much pwning IMG in getting more exposure for its stars. Djokovic has done Leno and Conan quite a few times this past year, that's much better exposure than "At the bar with Roger Federer" with Fallon and Rafa's slightly awkward Letterman interview.

Trolling is defined by Herring as baiting and luring others into pointless and time-consuming discussions.

4 criteria of trolls:

1. Appearance of outward sincerity.
2. Posts designed to incite anger or "flames"
3. Posts designed to waste everybody's time with useless argument
4. Desperate desire for attention, any attention at all

Recognize them, don't engage and put 'em on your ignore list where they belong. Feed a troll and you're just encouraging their attention-seeking.

I guess you only watch fox like other hating republicans(not that all republicans lack a heart, but most seem to).

That's because intelligent people watch 60 Minutes. People like you watch Dancing with the Stars. Someday Novak might be on that show so you can watch him then.

Congrats to Andy Roddick, 2017 Hall of Fame!

I watched it. Nothing new content wise but it was well made and presented-in sharp contrast to such shows. Best part was still Novak's impression of Sharapova from 2007. He has an eye for detail

The Djokovic Story on 60 Minutes

Anyone see this? A really compelling story. You understand where the hunger and desperation to excel comes from. No wonder the US has fallen off tennis wise. How do you compete with that?

It would have to be government funded, and I don't see that happening. Of course, there's always the off chance a super-rich philanthropist could make it happen.

Re: The Djokovic Story on 60 Minutes

only roddick and fed despised him. they trashed djoker because they couldn't admit he was superior. they put their high & mighty morality value on tennis
praise and media hype, but djoker will rob them of their dignity on court---without depending on easy competition. they can cry about their injuries and illnesses while djoker ignores them.

Thanks for the link! Not a Nole fan, but not a Nole hater either. The guy is well spoken and matured a bit over the years. If only his family could stay away from the courts things would be better.

ROGER FEDERER

COME ON MURRAY!
Andy Murray: USO champion! Roger Federer: LEGEND!

2012: A reminder to all of those who said Murray would never win a GS and that Federer was done winning GS titles!

I think what he's saying is that it's like a big onion. You peel off layer by layer to understand national psyche. Most outsiders have too superficial an understanding to "get" where it's coming from. There're a lot of complicated factors that drive nationalism, and it is myopic to think that the "level" would be uniform across the world.

Nole fan: "...most Fedtards seem to be very rabid and rude." (I agree 100%)

You can bet Djokovic's mom just screamed "Another king is dead" right about now - in the remotest corner - of her bathroom - followed by "The other one is buried." (from tennisplanet.me, following Madrid 2011 Djokovic d. Nadal 7-5 6-4)

Exactly. One of the biggest myths going around is that Nole's parents go to all his tournaments. They don't go to the half of them. They haven't been at the AO in 4 years since he first won it. They weren't at USO either last year. Apart from FO and Wimbledon( European Slams...(not to mention that they didn't even go to Wimbledon until the last two days) ) the only tournaments they went to last year were Miami, Rome and WTF. There's other parents going to a heck of a lot more but some people will never let go of the AO 08 and MC 08 stir pots...

I love Nadal but can see why others may not (their loss ) if it comes down to style of play; slow play etc. Assuming you can also tell why a lot of Nole's antics rub people the wrong way.

I don't mind his extrovertness - it's his nationalism that I struggle with - there's a worrying tinge of victimisation to it which is not good in my opinion - especially as someone that's been to Serbia it just does not sit well... Good for him for the 60 minutes segment - maybe it'll add to his audience.
Your attitude is not untypical of most American and British provincial WASPs. YOUR love of your homeland is considered patriotism, while your vassals are considered nationalists for expressing that same sentiment. Whether or not you are a troll, fuck you and your two week slumming vacation to Serbia. How the hell is your trip there supposed to give you any damn credibility?
