Can any other player on the ATP pull this off.

. I still have no idea how Gael got this back I can just imagine if he played basketball or football he would own those sports. This is unreal and its against a GS champion.

Yes but can Rafa do it against the one and only Juan Carlos Ferrero, Grand Slam Champion.

It's really incredible athleticism... however Monfils still lost the match in straights, it speaks volumes, doesn't it?

“There’s so many athletes, tennis players around the world,” he continued, trying to put his life into some kind of perspective, “they want to be the best in what they do. They want to succeed. Many of them, they don’t succeed in the end. I’m fortunate to have this opportunity and succeed.”

Why was that a bad volley? Would have won the point 95% of time

Peerless get, no question.

But I don't understand how Monfils has any fans (let alone "fanatics"). The groundstrokes in that rally were appalling. Slow, short, middling... I just don't understand it. It's almost as if he hits terrible groundstrokes deliberately because he enjoys showing off his cheetah-like defensive retrievals.

Re: Can any other player on the ATP pull this off.

Monfils has said before that he prefers retrieving from 3 metres behind the baseline and its pretty obvious that hes telling the truth after you watch any match of his.

The end of the point is great, but Monfils's pushing makes me sad.
