Re: Mikhail Youzhny receives PhD in Philosophy

So basically a degree where you only need a pulse in order to complete it.

I remember Youzhny being quite a headcase, smashing himself on the head with his racquet and drawing blood.

At the bottom end, as far as I know, is Fernando Verdasco, who quit school at 11 to concentrate on tennis. One source I read said he was diagnosed with ADHD. I don't know how true that is, but it's not an excuse for his crass on court behavior.
holy cow! can kids quit school so young?

Maybe being a Russian nutcase & intelligence have something in common?

Zvonareva is studying for her PhD in International Relations and Economics at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, the oldest and most renowned University of its type in Russia!

Andy Murray * Richard Gasquet * Fernando Gonzalez
Grigor Dimitrov * Andrey Kuznetsov

I wonder if Vera Zvonereva has some form of autism, possibly Asperger's. She's very smart, but has major meltdowns on court and has been known to physically abuse herself. She does a lot of work on behalf of girls with a far more severe form of autism, Rett syndrome.

I don't think so. She's fine socially. Just because she's a nutcase doesn't mean she has a disability!

Let's remind ourselves of PEAK вера though:

Andy Murray * Richard Gasquet * Fernando Gonzalez
Grigor Dimitrov * Andrey Kuznetsov
