I noticed Murray did the same.

Yeah, I did notice it ,too.

Andy is my second fav player, so I felt pity for Andy in the final of WB...
But he'll catch a chance the near future.

Didn't Muzz lose his Slam finals against Federer and Djokovic and not against Nadal?

Monaco - Del Potro - Nadal - Wawrinka - Robredo - Dimitrov - Chardy - Berdych

He also missed a number of chances to play other finals which he could have possibly won and against lesser opponents. He's bound to win one eventually after a few tries.

From US OPEN site:
http://www.usopen.org/en_US/news/art...149117966.html

Andy Murray, who has taken so many difficult losses to Nadal at the Slams, including in last year’s US Open semifinals, looked pained when discussing the pullout. While almost every player has come into a Grand Slam event at less than 100 percent, it is considered preferable to do that and give oneself an outside chance rather than not being able to show up at all.

“Obviously a shame,” said Murray, the Olympic gold medalist who has a very good chance of passing Nadal for the No. 3 spot in the rankings after the US Open. “I like Rafa a lot as a friend. I'm disappointed for him. I think for tennis and also a major competitions, it's a huge benefit when you have the top players playing. It’s obviously tough for him. He's had trouble with his knees in the past. So I hope he can rest, doesn't come back too early, and gets them fixed so he can get back to playing his best tennis.”

awww, Andy really loves Rafa.
These words from him are so warming and touched my heart, probably Rafa feels same, too.

Re: the NADARRAY thread

And Rafa says that he's happy for Andy getting back to the no.3 ranking after the US Open (at 00:30). A mutual love-in from those two. [Though either he's not done the calculations - Andy needs to win to get to no.3, or he's very confident about Andy's chances at the Open!]

He revealed that Rafael Nadal, resting his injured knees in Mallorca, had been in touch. "He messaged me after the match and said, 'Just enjoy it, I'm very happy for you. You deserved it.' That means a lot to me. I got a lot of congratulations from a lot of people but, when you get it from someone you competing against and he's one of the best players ever, it means a little bit more."

I'm no Fakervic fan but he needs to save tennis, sadly tree trunk legs will be fresh. Interesting he's never questioned....

Re: the NADARRAY thread

A quote from Murray's presser after he lost to Nadal in Wimbledon 2010 that I came across needs to be in this thread:

Quote:
Q. What did Rafael say to you after the match?
ANDY MURRAY: He said, Bad luck. I just said, Good luck for the rest of the tournament. You know, that was it. But, you know, I’ve said it for a few years. I love watching him play. He’s my favorite player to watch. That’s why I enjoy playing him so much. So I hope he wins.

Q. Is it annoying to have to wait so long to receive serve?
ANDY MURRAY: No, I don’t care. He can take as long as he wants on any point. I love watching the guy play. No, I don’t care. He can take as long as he wants.
Andy - mate - he's not leaving Xisca.

More recent Rafa praise from Andy - from his Charlie Rose interview after winning the US Open:

Quote:
“The brute force that Rafa [Nadal] plays with and the intensity that he has from the first point through to the last. He’s one of the best competitors I think that tennis has ever seen and probably won’t see for a while. He’s like a Jimmy Connors, I think. That sort of energy and enthusiasm every time he steps on the court.”

Re: the NADARRAY thread

Hmmm...

.... I wouldn't be surprised if Murray is one of the Nadal 'tards on here.

Could be Topspindoctor, GSMNadal, any of them
