Re: Murray does Vogue

damn who the hell wanted Murray of all people to do Vogue? I doubt he's gonna suddenly have a massive female fanbase now as a result of this photoshoot

I still don't understand what the point of the last pic is... So he wears a bulletproof vest in what appears to be a gym. What's that supposed to mean?

You mean you don't wear a bulletproof vest to the gym? Someone likes to live dangerously...

Maybe it's to protect him from all his gay fans?

Re: Murray does Vogue

I think murray looks great in these photos.

I don't get why people think he's ugly, because he's not. I think he's average. He's far from ugly though, as he is also far from beautiful. He's average looking.

BTW: the last photo looks really, really GAY. lol.

It's a weights vest, people wear them in the gym to increase the intensity of their workouts.

Re: Murray does Vogue

Murray's PR firm are really keen to make mega money from him apparently. So, we keep getting these airbrushed, soft focus, shot in flattering black and white, photo shoots to convince us that an essentially ugly man is the new Beckham. We get his prickly, unpleasant personality toned down to make him seem like someone people can warm to. We get the incessannt interviews before each grand slam telling us he 'is on the verge.' 'just about to,' 'nearly,' 'on his way' to winning a slam.

His PR firm has the following problems however, imo:
He is not physically attractive
He is not likeable
He has zero charisma
He exudes no warmth or vulnerability which makes a public figure appealing to a large audience
And most importantly of all, he is not a champion. A good, solid player, but not a slam champion.

Also, popular players or actors or popstars tend to gain a natural momentum in their popularity ie the public is naturally drawn to them and the media then cottons on to that natural popularity and helps build it up even more. When a PR firm tries to dictate to the public, it doesn't work.

Murray's been around for years. If he was going to be loved like Nadal is for example or have girls drooling over him, it would have happened by now, Testino photoshoots or not.

Re: Murray does Vogue

I don't think he's as ugly as everyone says, but he REALLY CAN'T pull off the cleaned up, magazine photoshoot look at all. He just looks weird and uncomfortable. I can almost hear the photog telling him how to pose and how wide he should open his mouth.

"Frankly My Dear, I don't give a damn"
