I love it. The guy has his routine, and he's sticking to it regardless. People won't remember whether or not he bowed to the Queen five years down the road, but they will remember how he performed in the tournament. Nice to see a player not get so doe-eyed over seeing her old ass anyways

OCD much, Rafa? 5-10 minutes wouldn't have killed you

mess with his water bottles or his routines and the guy will get batshit crazy

I dont think he could have escaped in 5-10 mins, lots of protocols that surronds her visit.

Wonder what would fed have done in the same situation? Would he have skipped his pre-match routine ???

Agreed, and he doesn't seem like the most gracious, friendly guy these days. I'm sure he's scared to death that his little winning streak is going to be toppled soon.

"It was disappointing for me but the Wimbledon club knows I have my routines before the match".

What ya gonna do? The man has his routines before a match. The queen should have known better.

Re: Nadal snubs The Queen

im glad someone gave the middle finger to the queen and the british press.
i hate the elitist nature of the brits and their traditions.

this is why i love rafa, i like him even more now.

when u can get the king(in 2005) and queen(in 2010) of spain to paris to watch u play, why the f**k do u need to bow to a foreign monarch.
last time i checked the spainsh and british royal families are related anyway.

i have seen alot of british newspapers on google news and most of it refers to rafa snubbing the queen.

this is proof rafa dont care what anyone thinks of him, thats why he is so successful.
he doesnt let other peoples opinion bother him.

just like he doesnt care what anyone thinks of him when he pick his underwear in public.

queen of england is a nobody thesedays, just an old fossil still clinging onto the hope the british empire is still important.

rafael nadal waits for no one.
king of clay > queen of england.
the queen is the one that should be honured to meet the king.

well done rafa, u show em boy!

Re: Nadal snubs The Queen

I wonder if Rafa would bow to the queen on the court, risking his walking-on-to-the-court routine.

Re: Nadal snubs The Queen

Well, it turned out to be the right decision, no? Even with his routines, Haase still takes him to a 5th set. Maybe Nadal would've lost straight sets if he hadn't done them.

I've been waiting for the day when one of his opponents will accidentally on purpose kick over his bottles on a changeover.
