I've always thought that Tim Henman was a closet smoker. But he'd probably smoke a pipe

yeah, but you don't have to run when you're playing doubles. i bet the number of players who smoke at least doubles (if not triples) if you compare singles players and pure doubles players.

and mentioning rafa and federer in a sentence with petzschner? i don't know, pretty insulting to the two. petzschner is what, the 500, 600 in the world?

Andrei Pavel, not in public + Adrian Voinea, in public, but he was almost retired then...
seen by me 3 years ago, when Pavel's career was probably at its best

He plays tennis for a living, just like Federer does. So he's a pro. You know exactly that his bad ranking is caused by long injury breaks again and again, currently a torn ligament. I have newspaper articles reporting that Petzschner defeated Al Ghareeb last year in 3 sets because of his superior fitness.

You thought right. I'm surprised no one has mentioned Tim Henman yet--he smokes an occasional cigarette.

"If I did like [Safin] does -- his nightclubs, his smoking -- I'd never make the Top 100," Youzhny said to Tennis Magazine in 2004.

Re: Which players smoke?

Mutis was smoking right before taking the court and beating Roddick at RG.

Re: Which players smoke?

I think players would be more likely to drink after a bad loss than smoke, Andy has at least jested about doing that. How stupid would it be to smoke though during your career? It's like not even caring about your health and health is an athlete's primary concern.

Rooting for: Roddick | Federer | Blake| Fish | Bryans | Gasquet | Querrey | Baghdatis | Verdasco | Kimmy
Missing: Andre | Safin | Women's tennis
