Re: Which players smoke?

honestly shocked that these guys smoke

.........kinda more impressed actually

smoking kills your stamina- to win and smoke takes real skill

God is Love. To know Love is to know God. So ask yourself if you hold any hate for another in your heart how can you have room for Love, room for God

This probably explains why Ferrer's managed to improve so much late in his career. He could tap his real physicality once he quit that BS.

As for Dasco, typical clown.

Do you think? I think by stopping smoking you can't erase the damage done. Smoking leaves permanent damage, which makes that stopping to smoke doesn't really improve your stamina but just prevents it from getting even worse.

Re: Which players smoke?

takes 10+ years to recover from smoking (lungs)

of course too much and you can't ever fully recover/have cancer risk

On Murray

You can recover somewhat (I know that much) but you do need time. It's like your body clears out the crap, etc. I mean I was just speculating but who knows .

Re: Which players smoke?

There were reports that Djokovic used to smoke occassionally until Cetojevic came up. I cannot confirm or deny that since I do not know.

you can't be serious, only stimulating drugs should be banned. Things like nicotine and cannabis shouldn't be banned, players can do in their off time what they want. Otherwise you have to ban alcohol as well and you can't do that, can you?

Re: Which players smoke?

I saw Gicquel smoking behind court 14 at the US Open. He looked like he enjoyed puffing more than playing tennis.

No. Definitely can't ban alcohol... However consuming alcohol an X number of hours before a match SHOULD be banned. Someone posted a youtube clip of some mug player trying to play a serious challenger/futures match obviously drunk. Can't have been great for the people who actually bought tickets to watch the match

LOL you're such a pathetic hater, Tyson. If there are so many pictures of him smoking, as you claim, then let people produce them. I've never seen one, and I'm a fan so I do spend time actively looking for pictures.

Now I couldn't care less if he smokes or not. He's certainly extremely fit and if he can reach that physical condition, while smoking, then, good for him... It's a persistent rumour, I wouldn't be surprised if there was truth in it. I highly doubt he's a heavy smoker as some have implied, though.

Now it shouldn't surprise me, coming from you, knowing your sense of measure, but claiming that he's "promoting" smoking is utterly ridiculous. If he's really been smoking that much all these years, and there has never been any better evidence than what I've seen, and the photos you're talking of but cannot produce, then he's quite good at hiding it and thus certainly not "promoting" it.

I don't know if he does anymore, but I definitely saw him smoking in Cincinnati a few years ago.
