So do I. His confidence is slowly but surely coming back, and we already know he has the game. These medium and lower level Italian challengers are the types of events a guy like Simo can and should dominate, and he can get his ranking up quickly by winning these and going deep consistently. Hopefully he starts this week and then he carries good form for RG qualifying.

He was in such a nasty position, even matchpoints down I think - but he won!

Re: Simone Bolelli aka Superbol

Into the SF at Genova challenger. All Italian semi-finals. At the moment he moves up to 115 in the world so I am hoping he is the one to win the tournament and bring his ranking back up towards top 100.

Re: Simone Bolelli aka Superbol

Simone lost in the SF at the Genova challenger to Starace 4-6 4-6. After this loss, he won back to back matches twice in nine events, making the QF of Napoli, losing to Fognini, and the SF of Ortisei, losing a close match to Lacko. The year Simone had this season is very similar to his 2009 season, a couple of good runs, but filled with 1st and 2nd round losses all over the schedule. The good thing for Simone is he has very little to defend up to April, so one can only hope he can find a way to regain the form that brought him inside the top 40 just early last season.

He will be nearly 25 1/2 when the 2011 season starts, so he is no longer young, and that is not an excuse for his lack of performance anymore. His struggles on surfaces that aren't slow clay will need to be rectified. It's time for Simone to make a step up in game and in focus and determination, or he will continue to be a regular challenger player for the rest of his career.

Re: Simone Bolelli aka Superbol

Simone finishes the season ranked #107, which likely will be good enough to make the MD of the Australian Open, his first MD direct entry since this years' AO. First on his program is Chennai. It's a weak entry list, so let's hope some good fortune begins early for Simone in 2011
