Hope he can play Wimbly but with no prep tourney, it'll be difficult to adapt on grass. he's so unlucky especially because Fish, Nole and probably Murray pulled out of Queens, he could have had a real chance to win
So far there hasn't been no comments from his camp. When he's been injured before, we hardly hear how serious the injury is... etc.
Last year when he got injured in Queens and then when he had his MRI scan, he still wasn't sure if he would play Wimbledon and then he withdrew a day before the draw.
I hope someone can tell us how serious the injury actually is.
I got a text message from Eastbourne tennis saying:
However, there are wildcard entries still undecided 4 AEGON International + Richard Gasquet, who pulled out of Queen's with injury, could fill one of these places.
Oh this sucks! No Queens for him, why does this always happen? Fingers very crossed for Wimbledon. Another year without him would be too much to take for him and all of us
I wouldn't bet on him getting an Eastbourne wildcard. Last year he was refused one. Didn't need it in the end anyway due to injury but I remember reading a news article where he'd asked for one and they'd said no. I'm not sure he would ask after that.
The difference from last year and this year is Richard's ranking, he is ranked number 13 that has 2 count for something. Looking at last year WC, they gave 2 of them to the Brit players and 1 to Simon. I'm still hopeful he can get one if he is fit.
Some of the top seeded players may withdraw and the addition of Richard could do the tournament good.
"Gasquet a repris.
"Gasquet has resumed.
Hit in the right thigh during his 1/8th against Djokovic at Roland Garros, Queen's package to Richard Gasquet is quite in time for Wimbledon. He took over the racket yesterday and will travel on Saturday to London to play two exhibition matches next week at Stoke Park. Gael Monfils will also be taking part. "It was a big spasm, limited elongation. The pain has disappeared two days ago." Gasquet explained yesterday. "
Apparently I lack the humour to find out what is funny about practising with Novak. I simply think it is a good idea to practise with the best players.
Richard went up early break 3-1, then at 4-2 had another breakpoint but Monfils served it out. Richard was playing really relaxed, but got careless and got broken, but it seemed was still in control. Destroyed Monfils in tiebreak 7-0.
Richard is hitting forehand pretty hard, but misses at times. Backhand is absolutely deadly. Hardest shot on the court today. Overall, he is playing inside the court, completely different tennis from hardcourts or clay.

YEAH! If only he could play more than one or two tournaments a year on grass(and sometimes none).
Thanks for the comments on the match - I noticed it would be streamed but actually had to pay attention to work for a while so missed it. Anyway not bad to beat Monfils in first "match" on grass. So he got pissed when he lost focused, even in an exho - good.
RIchard played really loose game and is broken at 15... too many mistakes, easy volley miss, couple forehands and a double fault. Kinda lost his focus.
Gael holds for 4-2 after couple dueces. Richard tried to break that game, but Gael came up with good serves when needed.
Richard holds for 3-4. Overall it still seems the match is more on Richard's racquet if he plays serious.
