Re: Tie-break's stuff

Frequency of playing tie-breaks (notable active players):

We can always easily assume that all-serve players are more often involved in tie-breaks than other players. Before I counted it, I had known that Karlovic and Isner would have been at the top (Karlovic edges a bit playing on average 1 tie-break set per match). This stats below confirms it as well as that grinders experience tie-breaks rarely. It shouldn't be surprising that Volandri, with arguably the weakest serve among notable names, is placed at the bottom of the list. The only thing which surprised me is the fact Rochus plays tie-breaks with a bit higher frequency than Anderson, but the South African has improved his serve a lot in the last two years, so I expect when they'll have finished their careers, Anderson will be above Rochus in this department.

Code:
1.07 Ivo Karlovic
0.92 John Isner
0.71 Milos Raonic
0.59 Feliciano Lopez
0.55 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga
0.53 Michael Llodra, Victor Hanescu
0.51 Nicolas Almagro
0.50 Jeremy Chardy, Grigor Dimitrov
0.49 Sergiy Stakhovsky
0.48 Thomaz Bellucci
0.47 Stanislas Wawrinka, Sam Querrey
0.46 Roger Federer, Dmitry Tursunov
0.45 Philipp Kohlschreiber, Mardy Fish, Radek Stepanek, Bernard Tomic, Igor Andreev
0.44 Paul-Henri Mathieu, Ernests Gulbis, Marcos Baghdatis
0.43 James Blake, Gael Monfils
0.42 Marin Cilic, Fernando Verdasco, Robby Ginepri
0.41 Andreas Seppi, Tommy Haas, Mikhail Youzhny, Olivier Rochus
0.40 Jurgen Melzer, Jarkko Nieminen
0.39 Juan Martin del Potro, Tomas Berdych, Richard Gasquet, Xavier Malisse
0.38 Kevin Anderson, Alexandr Dolgopolov

Re: Tie-break's stuff

What is the official spelling of tie(-)break? I think I've once heard that is was originally called 'tie breaker'.

Voo, could you please make at least a footnote in the OP of all TBs you know of (doubles [including STB], challengers, futures, qualifiers, even juniors) that were 20-18 or longer?
Kind of like the 20+ sets thread

They don't. Berankis played two TBs in qualies this season and one in MD. His ATP World Tour stat is 1-0.

Re: Tie-break's stuff

Thanks, but I'm not sure what's been added there? (Mixed?)

It should probably go in this page 2 post which needs updating anyway, as well as post #16 (one about challengers, one about qualifying; futures could be added to any of the two).
Hope you get around to it at some point.

Pero no, duerme que ahí afuera solo hay monstruos, solo hay gente que te compra y que te vende, que te odia, que te miente, que te roba, que te mata, que te viola y que no siente nada.
