Now that these have been mentioned again, I can't help but note that you had just made a list of challengers TBs, although you have them only since 1997 (and not 1991 as the main list), so it kind of take away the main reason for not making a similar list of qualifying TBs (well, tracking Futures qualifiers seems like too much even for you, but I hope TBs from GS and other ATP qualies shouldn't be too hard to collect).

Re: Tie-break's stuff

Djokovic and Stepanek had a shot at making the first "complete tie-break 5 set match" (only possible at the USO, isn't it?). But I think they were at least the first [singles match] to play first to 7 games each set (5-5 or better). Was it a first?

Possible only at UO and in "the best of five finals" of the other tournaments than Grand Slam.
Previous match with at least 7-5 in each set:
Wimbledon 1994, 4th round: Becker def. Medvedev 6-7(5) 7-5 7-6(3) 6-7(3) 7-5.

Re: Tie-break's stuff

CHAMPIONS TIE-BREAK STATS:

All doubles matches in the last two years [excluding Davis Cup, Masters Cup '06 & Grand Slam] have finished in the "champions tie-break". Polish duo Frytka/Matka have won the most "champions tie-breaks" - 30 (they've won also the most this year - 16; in 2006 Knowles/Nestor won 17). There are the best 10 doubles teams in the last two years and their W/L record in the "CTB":

30 - Fyrstenberg/Matkowski (14-14) (16-6)
24 - Knowles/Nestor (17-10) (7-10)
24 - Hanley/Ullyett (14-7) (10-6)
22 - The Bryans (8-5) (14-4)
17 - Damm/Paes (3-6) (14-6)
15 - Santoro/Zimonjic (10-5) (5-2)
15 - Erlich/Ram (8-8) (7-10)
13 - Bjorkman/Mirnyi (9-2) (4-6)
10 - Clement/Llodra (1-2) (9-4)
10 - Dlouhy/Vizner (5-3) (5-1)

Re: Tie-break's stuff

I saw yesterday one of the most intriguing tie-breaks in tennis history from Wimbledon final 1980 - B.Borg def. J.McEnroe 1-6 7-5 6-3 6-7(16) 8-6.

Borg had double match point on serve in the 4th set at 5:4 (40-15) but McEnroe saved match points with passing-shots from both angles.

Here is the progress of this famous tie-break:
1:0 McEnroe
2:1 Borg
3:2 McEnroe
4:3 Borg
5:4 Borg *
6:5 Borg
7:6 Borg * (The Swede on the ground)
8:7 McEnroe * (The American on the ground)
9:8 McEnroe
10:9 Borg
11:10 Borg * (McEnroe hit a lucky netcord )
12:11 Borg
13:12 McEnroe
14:13 McEnroe * (a minimal volley-out from comfortable position)
15:14 McEnroe
16:15 McEnroe * (nightmarish volley by BigMac)
17:16 McEnroe
and finally the end of the set after volley-error by Borg

Borg wasted 7 match points in this set, McEnroe converted his 7th set point.

Very interesting It was probably a "champions tie-break" instead of normal third set.
