ROGER FEDERER: Yeah, I remember this one time when I went on a vacation on the Maldives. That was in the year 2001, I think. I went to this spa. I went to walk around with my girlfriend. I walk in, and we want to book a spa. This guy goes, "AHH, I remember you. You beat Sampras. I saw you on TV." That was like, really, how can you remember me? This guy has probably never been off his island and still knows me. I was a little bit shocked. Then I went to play tennis with him because he was actually the tennis teacher. It was nice.

Q. Were you naked at the time in the spa?

ROGER FEDERER: No. It was at the front desk. I didn't walk in naked.

Thanks for posting all that information, it was fascinating to read. Do you know if the wins are all live rubbers, or do they include wins in dead rubbers, too? Thank you.

It's Lleyton Hewitt, but I can understand why you can't recognize him. I didn't at first, either.

Yep, it includes wins in dead rubbers as well. If I included doubles alongside singles wins, Kafelnikov would be ahead of the rest by some margin with 44 DC victories.

I guess you cannot include somebody who plays singles only in Davis Cup, and still can beat anybody below top-50 in Davis Cup .. I am of course talking about Leander Paes (IND) who has 69-29 Davis Cup records and is 11th alltime in Davis Cup history, and is the "winningest" active player in Davis Cup in the world.

And he still keeps on winning 3 matches in every zonal tie and keeps on putting India into the WG playoffs, in which India keeps on not getting seeded because ITF doesn't care for their own Davis Cup ranks, and keeps on going away drawing normally against the toughest teams (SWE, USA, AUS and NED away in four consecutive years) .. But for Leander, there would be no India anywhere to be seen.

Paes has played 98 matches in 34 ties, which is the highest number of matches per Davis Cup, of anybody who played more than 10 ties or so ..

Just something to add to the dicussion. There are some guys out there like Paes and Nestor of Canada who seem to live for just Davis Cup ..

Leander's record is quite an accomplishment! But I can see the point in keeping the zonal statistics separate from the rest.

One of Ancic's loss was when he was 15 years old, on a dead rubber against João Cunha e Silva, POR v CRO.

Pavel - 30 wins impressive. Are all his wins in the World Group stage? Probably not.
