Yearly ace statistics?

Does anyone have statistics of the 10 players with most aces during a whole season?

I know Goran Ivanisevic is #1 with over 1,400 ace in one season, but I dont' know anything else.

Ithink that Joachim Johansson can beat him this year.

Thanks,

jarar

Re: Yearly ace statistics?

Current 2007 season standings (I think the week of Stockholm hasn't been counted yet, you can add almost 100 for Karlovic):

Code:
                          #aces #matches
1.	Karlovic, Ivo 1029 51
2.	Ljubicic, Ivan 796 57
3.	Roddick, Andy 708 59
4.	Querrey, Sam 481 39
5.	Federer, Roger 475 58
6.	Monfils, Gael 473 42
7.	Djokovic, Novak 448 71
8.	Almagro, Nicolas 435 56
9.	Lopez, Feliciano 430 42
10.	Blake, James 423 62
Karlovic is a very deserved winner this year, and his average of about 20 aces per match blows away the previous record.

One statistic that I have never seen quoted is the rate of aces per service point (described as a number between 0 and 1 or as a percentage). The ATP doesn't seem to use that statistic but you can calculate it the from match statistics provided by the ATP. I think Karlovic would be a stand-out leader if you would make a leaderboard for this statistic for recent tennis history, even in previous years when he didn't play as many matches.

Re: Yearly ace statistics?

For reference here's the final 2007 ranking from the ATP.

Code:
   Player #aces #matches
1. Karlovic, Ivo 1318 64
2. Ljubicic, Ivan 944 65
3. Roddick, Andy 749 64
4. Federer, Roger 597 75
5. Fish, Mardy 534 47
6. Djokovic, Novak 518 84
7. Lopez, Feliciano 511 51
8. Querrey, Sam 509 41
9. Blake, James 508 71
10 Berdych, Tomas 486 66
Karlovic broke the record for aces per match with 20.6 and his number of aces was only bettered by Ivanisevic in one season.

Isner had 255 aces from only 13 matches (19.6 average), and it looks likely that he will feature in the top ten for 2008.

Re: Yearly ace statistics?

The Croats rules in this section: Ivanisevic was the best 6 times, both Ljubo & Ivo once.

In fact his 21.1 average in 2004 still stands. However I think he has beaten the record of service game won with 94%.
