Re: Cumulative Weeks In Top 10 (Active Players)

One thing really remarkable is that eight of the current top-10 has been there for 133 weeks or more. I don't think this has ever happened before. And none of the eight appear vulnerable either, so the number will surely rise above 150.

This is true, although not consecutively. In my opinion, it represents a strong era in which it is hard to break into the highest rankings because the best players are generally so consistent.

Re: Cumulative Weeks In Top 10 (Active Players)

I can't believe it's been over a year since I updated this page. Since then, Milos Raonic is the only new addition to the list while David Nalbandian, James Blake, and Nicolas Massu have all retired. I have amended a couple of the other records as on checking a couple were fractionally out.

Code:
Player Country	First in Top 10	Last in Top 10	Weeks in top 10	Highest Ranking
David Nalbandian	ARG	27/01/2003	16/02/2009	232 3
James Blake USA	20/03/2006	19/01/2009	131 4
Nicolas Massu CHL	13/09/2004	20/09/2004	2 9

Re: Cumulative Weeks In Top 10 (Active Players)

Estrange that Ferrer will still be trailing Hewitt and Davydenko for most of 2014. I would have presumed him ahead of them by now (I suppose top 20 is a completely different matter though). I also find interesting how Haas managed to get to world Nº2 with just 83 weeks in top10. Berdych tally will be quite impressive when he retires.

Thanks for the compilation, Greg Sharko (ATP shark bites stats guru should visit MTF to find new inspiration).

Do you keep an all-time one?

Re: Cumulative Weeks In Top 10 (Active Players)

I've updated this list through to the end of 2015 which one player (Kevin Anderson) make the list for the first time and
one player (Mardy Fish) falling off the list due to retirement.

Code:
Player Country	First in Top 10	Last in Top 10	Weeks in top 10	Highest Ranking
Mardy Fish USA	18/04/2011	11/06/2012	56 7

Now at 155, with six of them with 310 or more.

Remarkable stability.

Re: Cumulative Weeks In Top 10 (Active Players)

A couple of years ago I was impressed about eight of the (maroon) current top-10 having at least 133 weeks. Now it's 164. And seven with at least 225. And six with at least 319.

The sum for all ten must surely be a record.

.
(May 1st)
ST rank 21 (best 1) - 13 wins, 3 titles (Paris 2014, Madrid + Vienna 2015) YE rank: 16 - 1 - 22
TT singles rank 61 (high 29), Titles: Memphis 2015.... TT doubles rank 28 (high 28). Titles: Quito 2015 (w/scarecrows), Basel 2015, Barcelona 2016 (w/Björki), Estoril 2016 (w/Taz Warrior)
