Ivan Ljubicic withdraws:(

Shoulder does it again ...

The decision has been made. Ivan cancelled trip to Indian Wells which was supposed to be his next stop on the tour. Instead, Ivan is going to Milan on Wednesday or Tuesday, where he will "visit" specialist for shoulder injuries who did surgeries on Henman"s, Enquist"s and Furlan"s shoulders. Ivan will do detailed tests and decide what to do next.

poor Ivan

Hmm... Bl@de, I'm beginning to see what you mean about the Croatian curse that is afflicting its players.

However, Ljubicic and Ivanisevic are hardly unique in this respect, the casualty list for the first few months of this year is mounting fast: Ferrero, Safin, Haas, Henman, Rusedski.... Roddick and Federer have had minor problems, Clement and Mathieu have both been out with injuries and now Escude has had thigh problems during the indoor season. It's all another sign of too much tennis and a too-short off season.

The Wit and Wisdom of the Tennis Journalist, Indian Wells 2004

ROGER FEDERER: Yeah, I remember this one time when I went on a vacation on the Maldives. That was in the year 2001, I think. I went to this spa. I went to walk around with my girlfriend. I walk in, and we want to book a spa. This guy goes, "AHH, I remember you. You beat Sampras. I saw you on TV." That was like, really, how can you remember me? This guy has probably never been off his island and still knows me. I was a little bit shocked. Then I went to play tennis with him because he was actually the tennis teacher. It was nice.

Q. Were you naked at the time in the spa?

ROGER FEDERER: No. It was at the front desk. I didn't walk in naked.

Poor Ivan

I hope the injury is not serious. We have too much of sidelined players this year already
