Re: Asia/Oceania Group I Play-Off 2nd round: Kazakhstan at Thailand (10-12 July, 2009

Thailand
Kittipong Wachiramanowong
Peerakiat Siriluethaiwattana
Sonchat Ratiwatana
Sanchai Ratiwatana
Captain: Thanakorn Srichaphan

Kazakhstan
Andrey Golubev
Yuriy Schukin
Mikhail Kukushkin
Alexey Kedryuk
Captain: Yegor Shaldunov

Link

Danai earned direct entry to Newport, and obviously opted to play there. Kazakhstan probably would win either way.

yep, Kazakhstan should win with their Russian team, Thailand will have to probably play China in relegation tie and if without Danai again, it can be a close tie.

Re: Asia/Oceania Group I Play-Off 2nd round: Kazakhstan at Thailand (10-12 July, 2009

I went there.. It's such a hot day but didn't effect the Kazak team as
they've been here in Bangkok since July 3.

GOLUBEV (KAZ)
It took a while before he really could get into his top form.
You could see how hot it is. But both Golubev and Siriluethaiwattana
didn't change shirt rather continuing to play with soaked wet shirt.

SIRILUETHAIWATTANA (THA)
Due to lack of experience, he felt the pressure and didn't play his best.

KUKUSHKIN (KAZ)
He was frustrated from time to time by line calls.

WACHIRAMANOWONG (THA)
He had many chances to break KuKushkin but failed every single time.

Thank you for the comments and pictures

Tough luck for Thailand having to play without Danai and facing the Russian team B

Is Srichaphan still planning a comeback?

He's still hoping for a comeback but only when
the doctor says so. ANd at the moment the doctor
doesn't suggest him to play. I think he probably has
to retire soon. With his playing style, it
will hurt again and again.

Latest news on Paradorn's comeback

He expected to play at the 2009 THailand Open in September.
But the doctor has yet to confirm that his body is really
ready for professional tennis.

No Sonchat?

Tough loss for Thailand, but they should be able to avoid relegation, even on the road.

Hopefully Paradorn can have a successful comeback

Sonchat had diarrhea prior to the match.
We had so many bad line calls mostly against the Kazakhstan though. (no wonder)
Kittipong always had foot fault but the linesman and umpire ignored. I was really disappointed
by the way the organizer run the event, not professional at all. Linesman and ball girls
went to the court later than the players. There is also no security check. I wonder
why ITF has done nothing to Thai organizer.

Reserve singles Golubev def. Kittipong 61 64
So 4-0 lead for the Russian team B.
