Re: Qualifying Draw

I find it very strange that a qualifying draw to a good ATP event is not jam-packed with players!? Does anyone know what it takes to sign in for an ATP qualifying event? Must you have atleast 1 ATP ranking point or an ITF junior ranking or why is it so often BYE´s in those events?

I mean, it´s such amazing experience for young talented players to compete on this level. Or is it such sky high fee to play or what is the reason?? Would be interesting to know,,

Re: Qualifying Draw

I think the main reason is that there is no entry list in advance. Players sign in for qualies on frisay night. So they have to travel to Stuttgart without knowing if they will make the cut.

If theorganizers want, they can fill up the draw with unranked players. Looks like the Stuttgart organizers did not want to.
