Kei will play Binghamton next week
Probably a wise decision.
Cutoff in Canada can be pretty low if there are lots of withdrawals like last year when the last player accepted in qualies (Dlouhy) was ranked #216, but atm it's as high as #97---it's a Masters event after all---so I guess it's no use hanging in there waiting for other guys to pull out. There's also one SE spot there, but Kei needs to qualify first.
As misty and Thomas said Kei has been receiving no love from draw god, so he hasn't been able to get enough match practice in the last two months. At a challenger he has a better chance for racking up some wins and get back his rhythm and confidence!
